Pressurized mud balance
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002929
A specialized instrument used to accurately measure the density of drilling fluids, particularly those containing entrained gas. It operates by applying pressure to a sample of mud, which compresses any gas bubbles, allowing for a more precise determination of the true fluid density. This device provides a more accurate reading than a conventional mud balance when gas is present.
