Radius of investigation
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003041
The effective distance into the formation from the borehole wall from which a logging tool primarily receives its measurements. This radius varies significantly depending on the logging tool type, its operating frequency, and the formation properties. For example, shallow resistivity tools have a smaller radius of investigation than deep resistivity tools.
