Secondary porosity

Porosity that develops in a rock after its initial deposition and lithification, typically through processes like dissolution of minerals, fracturing, or dolomitization. This type of porosity can significantly enhance the reservoir quality of a rock, especially in carbonates. It is distinct from primary porosity, which forms during deposition.
