Sensitivity
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004444
The degree to which a geophysical instrument or measurement system responds to changes in the physical property it is designed to detect. High sensitivity allows for the detection of subtle variations in subsurface characteristics, such as small changes in rock density or magnetic susceptibility. For example, a highly sensitive gravimeter can detect minute gravitational anomalies.
