Borehole gravity
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000407
A measurement of the gravitational field within a wellbore, used to determine bulk density of the surrounding formation at a greater depth of investigation than conventional density logs. This technique can detect bypassed pay zones or fluid contacts away from the wellbore. It involves lowering a highly sensitive gravimeter into the well.
