Sinusoid

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003430

A mathematical curve that describes a smooth, repetitive oscillation, often represented by sine or cosine functions. In reservoir characterization, sinusoidal patterns can appear in seismic data, representing wave propagation or periodic variations in rock properties. These waveforms are characterized by their amplitude, frequency, and phase.
