Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002769

The position of a point on a seismic waveform relative to a reference point or the start of a cycle, measured in degrees or radians. It describes the timing relationship between different seismic traces or between a seismic wavelet and the subsurface reflector. A 90-degree phase shift, for example, converts a sine wave into a cosine wave.
