Steam soak
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003608
An enhanced oil recovery method, also known as cyclic steam stimulation or huff-and-puff, where steam is injected into a well for a period, allowed to soak in the reservoir, and then the well is put back on production. The steam heats the heavy oil, reducing its viscosity and improving its flow. This process is typically applied in multiple cycles.
