Stratified flow
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003639
A multiphase flow regime where different fluid phases, typically gas and liquid, separate and flow in distinct layers along the length of a horizontal or inclined pipe. The lighter phase, gas, flows along the top, while the heavier phase, liquid, flows along the bottom. This pattern is common in pipelines with low flow rates.
