Tracer-loss measurement
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003881
A technique used in production logging to identify zones where injected fluids are being lost from the wellbore into the formation. A chemical or radioactive tracer is added to the injection fluid, and its concentration is monitored as it flows down the well. A decrease in tracer concentration indicates fluid loss into a permeable zone, often expressed as a percentage of the injected volume.
