Mud tracer

A chemical or radioactive substance added to drilling fluid to track its movement or identify its source. Tracers are used to detect lost circulation zones, determine the integrity of casing, or monitor the flow path of the mud in complex wellbores. Common tracers include fluorescent dyes or specific chemical compounds detectable at low concentrations.
