Underpressured

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003981

Describing a subsurface formation where the pore fluid pressure is significantly lower than the normal hydrostatic pressure for its depth. This condition can result from fluid withdrawal, cooling of the reservoir, or tectonic processes. Underpressured reservoirs can pose challenges for drilling operations and fluid production.
