Wall sticking
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004078
A condition where the drill string becomes immovably lodged against the wall of the wellbore due to differential pressure. This occurs when a section of the drill string is pressed into a permeable formation with lower pressure than the hydrostatic pressure of the drilling fluid. Wall sticking can lead to costly fishing operations or sidetracking.
