Water-flow log
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004111
A production log that identifies the location of water movement into or out of a wellbore and quantifies its flow rate. These logs use tools sensitive to water, such as oxygen activation or phase-velocity sensors, to distinguish water flow from hydrocarbon flow. The resulting data are used to diagnose water production problems like casing leaks, channeling behind pipe, or unwanted water entry from a specific perforated interval.
