Zero-zero gels
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004199
A characteristic of drilling fluids, particularly those used in horizontal drilling, where the initial and 10-minute gel strengths are both zero. This property indicates that the fluid has no measurable thixotropic behavior, meaning it does not develop a gel structure when static. Such fluids are designed to minimize swab and surge pressures during pipe movement.
