Ansa compounds
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000649
Macrocyclic compounds characterized by a bridge (ansa chain) connecting two non-adjacent positions of a larger ring system, often an aromatic ring. This bridge restricts the rotation of the larger ring, leading to unique stereochemical properties. Ansa compounds are frequently encountered in organometallic chemistry, particularly with metallocenes.
