Homoconjugation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005355
The interaction between a pi-electron system and an isolated double bond or aromatic ring through space, rather than through direct sigma bond overlap. This interaction results in delocalization of electrons across non-adjacent centers. It is observed in certain cyclic and polycyclic compounds, influencing their stability and reactivity.
