Antineutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibody

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000699

An autoantibody that targets proteins within the cytoplasm of neutrophils, a type of white blood cell. These antibodies are associated with a group of autoimmune disorders known as antineutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibody-associated vasculitides, which cause inflammation of small blood vessels. Detection of these autoantibodies is a key diagnostic tool for these conditions.
