Arcsine square root transformation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000767

A statistical data transformation applied to proportional data, such as percentages or fractions, to stabilize variance and normalize the distribution. This transformation converts the original proportion, p, into arcsin(sqrt(p)). It is often used before applying parametric statistical tests to data that are bounded between 0 and 1.
