Log-normal transformation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006757

A mathematical procedure applied to data that are not normally distributed, involving taking the logarithm of each data point. This transformation often converts skewed data, particularly those with a positive skew, into a more symmetrical, approximately normal distribution. It is frequently used in statistical analysis to meet the assumptions of parametric tests, such as ANOVA or regression.
