Attractive potential-energy surface
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000936
A region on a potential-energy surface where the energy decreases as reactants approach each other, indicating a net attractive force between them. This configuration promotes the formation of a transition state and subsequent product formation. Such surfaces are characteristic of reactions with low activation energies.
