Heteroexcimer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005240
An excited-state complex formed between two different chemical species, where at least one of the species is in an electronically excited state. This transient species is characterized by a dissociative ground state and an attractive excited state. Its formation is often observed through a new emission band at lower energy than the individual components.
