Chemiexcitation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001980
The generation of an electronically excited state of a molecule as a direct result of a chemical reaction. This excited state can then relax by emitting light, a process known as chemiluminescence. A classic example is the reaction of luminol, which produces light through chemiexcitation.
