Atypical interstitial pneumonia
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000940
An acute or chronic respiratory distress of cattle that occurs without the toxemia or other systemic signs typical of other pneumonias, also called bovine pulmonary emphysema or fog fever. The cause is not established, but suspected factors include allergic reactions and toxicity from the conversion of dietary tryptophan to 3-methylindole by gut microbes.
