Autocorrelation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000964
A mathematical measure of the similarity between a signal and a delayed version of itself as a function of the delay. It quantifies the degree of linear dependence between observations in a time series. This statistical tool is widely used in signal processing and time series analysis to identify repeating patterns or periodicities.
