Delayed coincidence

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002961

A technique used in nuclear physics and analytical chemistry to measure very short time intervals between two successive events, such as the emission of two particles from a radioactive decay. It involves detecting two events and measuring the time delay between their occurrences. This method is employed to determine nuclear lifetimes or to study cascade decays.
