Coincidence circuit
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002191
An electronic circuit designed to produce an output signal only when two or more input signals occur simultaneously or within a very short, specified time interval. These circuits are commonly used in nuclear analytical chemistry to detect events that are causally related, such as the simultaneous detection of gamma rays from a cascade decay. The time window for coincidence is known as the resolving time.
