Bimodal network
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001221
A polymer network whose strands between adjacent junction points fall into two distinct groups of very different length, a short group and a long group. Mixing the two lengths, as in end-linked poly(dimethylsiloxane) made from short and long chains, can give an elastomer with improved ultimate strength and elongation.
