Elastically active network chain
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003622
A polymer chain within a cross-linked network that contributes to the elastic properties of the material when deformed. Such a chain must be connected at both ends to at least two different cross-link points and be long enough to undergo conformational changes. Chains that are too short, form loops, or are only attached at one end do not contribute to the network's elasticity.
