Binodal

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001233

A curve on a phase diagram that separates a single-phase region from a two-phase region, representing the equilibrium compositions of two coexisting phases. For polymer solutions, the binodal curve delineates the boundary where a homogeneous solution separates into two distinct liquid phases. It is determined by thermodynamic principles of phase equilibrium.
