Bradykinin

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001463

A peptide composed of nine amino acid residues, formed in the body through the enzymatic cleavage of kininogen by kallikrein. It acts as a potent vasodilator, increasing blood vessel permeability and contributing to inflammation and pain responses. Bradykinin is rapidly degraded by kininases, such as angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE).
