fMLP peptide
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004548
A synthetic peptide, N-formylmethionyl-leucyl-phenylalanine, that mimics bacterial N-formylated peptides and acts as a potent chemoattractant for phagocytic cells, particularly neutrophils. It binds to specific G protein-coupled receptors on immune cells, initiating a signaling cascade that leads to chemotaxis, degranulation, and the production of reactive oxygen species. This peptide is widely used in immunology research to study neutrophil activation and inflammatory responses.
