Chemotactic factor
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001993
A substance that can induce chemotaxis, which is the directed movement of cells in response to a chemical concentration gradient. These factors bind to specific receptors on the cell surface, triggering intracellular signaling pathways that guide the cell's migration. Examples include certain cytokines, bacterial products, and components of the complement system.
