Wnt

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012710

A family of secreted signaling proteins that regulate cell-to-cell interactions during embryonic development and adult tissue homeostasis. These proteins bind to cell surface receptors, initiating intracellular signaling cascades that influence cell fate, proliferation, and migration. Dysregulation of the Wnt signaling pathway is implicated in birth defects and the development of certain cancers.
