Embryonic induction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003839
A process during embryonic development where one group of cells or tissues influences the developmental fate of an adjacent group of cells. This interaction often involves signaling molecules that induce changes in gene expression and cellular differentiation in the responding tissue. It is a fundamental mechanism driving organ formation and pattern specification.
