Induction period
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005798
A time interval at the beginning of a chemical reaction during which the reaction rate is very slow or negligible, before accelerating to its maximum rate. This delay is often observed in chain reactions where the concentration of reactive intermediates needs to build up. It can also occur in autocatalytic reactions.
