Bremsstrahlung

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001494

Electromagnetic radiation generated when a charged particle, such as an electron, undergoes deceleration by another charged particle, typically an atomic nucleus. This process converts kinetic energy into X-rays or gamma rays. The energy spectrum of Bremsstrahlung is continuous, ranging from zero up to the maximum kinetic energy of the incident particle.
