Broca area

A region within the frontal lobe of the dominant cerebral hemisphere, typically the left, that is associated with speech production. Damage to this area can result in expressive aphasia, where an individual has difficulty forming words and sentences. This brain region is located near the motor cortex that controls the muscles of the mouth and throat.
