Chemiluminescent methods of detection
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001984
Analytical techniques that rely on the emission of light from a chemical reaction to detect and quantify specific substances. The analyte reacts with a reagent to produce an excited state intermediate, which then decays to a lower energy state by emitting photons. The intensity of the emitted light is proportional to the concentration of the analyte, often measured by a photomultiplier tube.
