Enhancer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003938
A fluorescent compound added to a chemiluminescent or bioluminescent system that accepts energy from the excited species produced by the reaction and re-emits it as light, raising the intensity or shifting the color of the emission. It acts as the energy acceptor in a sensitized-fluorescence step, as when a fluorescent dye is added to a chemiluminescent reaction.
