Coupled reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002647
A chemical reaction whose rate or extent is influenced by another reaction occurring simultaneously in the same system. One reaction may consume a product or regenerate a reactant of the other, linking their kinetics. These reactions are frequently used in analytical methods where one reaction produces a detectable species that monitors the other.
