Cross polarization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002706
A technique in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, particularly in solid-state NMR, that transfers magnetization from abundant, rapidly relaxing nuclei (e.g., protons) to less abundant or slowly relaxing nuclei (e.g., carbon-13). This process enhances the signal-to-noise ratio of the less sensitive nuclei. It relies on dipolar coupling between the two types of nuclei.
