Decontamination factor
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002910
The ratio of the initial concentration of a solute in a phase to its final concentration in the same phase after a separation or purification process. It quantifies the efficiency of removing a specific contaminant from a substance or mixture. A decontamination factor of 100 means the concentration of the contaminant has been reduced by two orders of magnitude.
