Deliquescent
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002973
Describing a substance that absorbs moisture from the atmosphere to such an extent that it dissolves in the absorbed water and forms a solution. This property is characteristic of highly soluble ionic compounds that have a strong affinity for water molecules.
