Deodorizer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003009

A substance or piece of equipment that removes or masks unpleasant odors from the air or a gas stream. Deodorizing substances may work by chemical reaction, such as oxidation, or by adsorption onto a porous material like activated carbon. In industrial applications, deodorizers are a form of emission control equipment, distinct from devices that simply mask an odor with a stronger, more pleasant scent.
