Activated carbon
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000170
A form of carbon processed to have a highly porous structure and a large surface area. This material is produced by heating carbonaceous substances in the absence of oxygen, followed by activation with steam or chemicals. It is widely used for adsorption processes in purification and filtration.
