Drug-eluting stent
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003451
A medical device, typically a small mesh tube, implanted into a narrowed artery to keep it open and prevent restenosis. This type of stent is coated with a pharmaceutical agent that is slowly released over time to inhibit cell proliferation and reduce the risk of re-narrowing of the vessel.
