Dynamic emittance matching
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003487
A technique used in ion beam analysis, particularly with raster scanning, to maintain optimal transmission of the ion beam through the mass spectrometer. It involves adjusting the potentials of the transfer optics in synchronization with the raster scan of the primary beam across the sample surface. This correction compensates for changes in the ion emission angle and position as the beam moves, maintaining a constant acceptance condition for the analyzer.
