Dynamic bioaccessibility

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003486

A way of estimating how much of an analyte becomes bioaccessible, in which fresh simulated digestive fluid flows continuously across a solid or semi-solid sample held in a flow-through device. The constant supply of new fluid washes dissolved analyte out of the cell, so the extraction is kept far from equilibrium. In static bioaccessibility tests the sample instead sits in one fixed volume of fluid for a set period.
