Earthworm reproduction test

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003541

A standardized ecotoxicological assay used to evaluate the effects of chemicals in soil on the reproductive success of earthworms. Adult earthworms are exposed to contaminated soil, and the number of cocoons produced and hatched juveniles is measured. This test provides data on the chronic toxicity of substances to soil invertebrates, contributing to environmental risk assessments.
